Proverbs Five, Verses 9-14

Here's what Solomon warns will happen to a man who gets involved with an adulterous woman...

Verse 9... He will give his honor to others and his years to the evil one. (Satan)

Verse 10... His wealth will go to aliens and his labor will go to the house to a foreigner.

Verse 11... His flesh and body will be consumed.

Verses 12-14 explain how the man will reflect on his actions before it's too late.

Verse 12... The man will realize how he hated instruction and despised correction.

Verse 13... The man will acknowledge how he did not listen to his teachers and instructors.

Verse 14... He understands that he was on the verge of total ruin.

Nothing good will ever come of an adulterous relationship. God will never put His stamp of approval on that sort of behavior.

Dear Heavenly Father, Lord I love You. I have been thinking about this study all throughout the day today. I think one reason there is so much adultery going on around us is because few people have read Proverbs and have accepted You into their hearts. If more people would take the time to read and reflect on Proverbs this world would be a better place. And if more people asked You into their hearts as their Lord and Savior we'd have a revival on our hands...
