The Church in America...

What is 'the Church' in America...? I am sad and disappointed at all the weak, watered down faith I observe. I have been reading Voice of the Martyrs Magazine, and have visited http://persecution.com/ on the web. There's even a Voice of the Martyrs Blog

There are Christians around the world who put their lives on the line every day for their faith. American Christians are sitting back in comfort and letting the foundation of America erode and fall noiselessly to the ground...!

God is still speaking to me about what my role needs to be in all this, but I know I am being led to be active in standing up for the Truth...! I think the persecution of Christians is coming to America, and it's coming FAST...! Today I am standing in the gap for America...!

Who will join me...?

Here's a good website you might want to become familiar with: http://www.awakeamericans.org/

Today I lift up the Ministry of Dr Chuck Harding. God Bless You, Dr Harding...!

Dear Heavenly Father,

Lord, Praise You...! You are in control. This is the time for men and women of faith to stand up for the TRUTH. Father God I lift up Dr Harding and his God and Country Ministry. Bless him and his precious family, Lord. I appreciate that You have sent men like Dr Harding to bring Your message and call attention to what is going on in our world.

Lord help me to impact those within my sphere of influence for You. Father God Help Dr Harding, too. Father God I love You. I live for You.

In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

I'm Not Waiting for the National Day of Prayer...

I Timothy 2:1-4 says: I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

This is one of my favorite verses. I have this verse on my website. It reminds me of my life's mission: To help people get saved.

The Apostle Paul said that we need to pray for everyone, especially kings and those in authority. God wants every man to be saved.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 says to pray without ceasing. We need to be praying at all times.

Ephesians 6:18 says ...With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints.

Ephesians 6:18 exhorts us to pray at all times. It reminds us to pray with perseverance. What is perseverance...? Perseverance means that we are going to have to overcome some obstacles in our prayer life. The Enemy is going to try to distract and discourage us. This verse also reminds us to pray for other believers (saints).

Friends, how's your prayer life...? Mine is inconsistent. And I notice that the times I struggle spiritually are the times when I'm not prayed up. But time is of the essence. Our country, our world is in BIG trouble. We've got to pray... We've got to pray... We've got to pray....

2 Chronicles 2:17 says: ...if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves, pray, search for me, and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear [their prayer] from heaven, forgive their sins, and heal their country.

Are You 'God's People'...? If You have accepted Him as Your Lord and Savior, You are...!

Dear Heavenly Father,

Lord I stand in the Gap for many things this morning. I lift up America and it's leaders to you. I pray for their hearts and their salvation. Lord I pray for my family. I lift up my partner in Life, Monica. Thank You for the blessing of her friendship and love. Lord I lift up Connor and Elijah to You. I pray that You would empower me to train them up in the way You would have them go.

Lord thank You for my sister who is suffering in New York. Heal her pain, my King. I selfishly ask that You guide her home to Texas, but Lord I pray also for her family that they might experience something that will turn their hearts and minds to you.

Father God, I thank You for the blessing of many tennis students. I pray that I am able to make a difference in each of their lives. Lord You have blessed me so abundantly. Help me to be a good steward of these blessings. Lord I want to be obedient to You and Your Will.

I love You, Lord. I exhalt You, Jesus...! And in Your precious name I pray, Amen.

Stand Strong in Christ

This morning I have been feeling weak spiritually. I did a google search for the phrase 'stand strong in Christ' and came up with some good and encouraging results.

Remember that God is Always There

Even in the driest times, when you just don’t feel God’s presence, you need to remember that God is always there. He does not forget you. True faith is developed even when you don’t feel God.

Deuteronomy 31:6 - “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." (NIV)

I know God is always there. I'm just a little weak sometimes. Deuteronomy 31:6 is a good verse to put to memory...!

Keep Praising God... He inhabits our praise. Check out Psalm 22:3... And here's a good article on praise.

Oh Lord I worship You...! You are my God...! Forgive me for being weak in spirit...! I love You, Lord...!

I Do Not Love Simplicity...!

These past few months I've been doing a study of the book of Proverbs. I've read through the entire book on multiple occasions and spent a good deal of quiet time meditating and thinking about what God is trying to reveal to me through these wise sayings. At first I went through and tried to pull out the main thought, or the scripture verse or passage that was most meaningful to me. Now I'm trying to dig a little deeper.

Here are some more of my thoughts on Proverbs One. Verse translations are from the NIV.

In my first few readings and studies I concluded that Proverbs Verse 1:7 was the most significant verse to me. Now most people are familiar with that verse. or at least the first part of it: -Fear of the Lord is beginning of knowledge. And we determined that fear did not necessarily mean being frightened, but it also means having reverence and honor for God, too.

But that is not the verse in it's entirety. The second part of that verse is But fools despise wisdom and instruction. That second part of the verse is very significant. I've come to realize that I truly need to change my way of living before God simply labels me a fool and moves on.

You see, now that I have spent a good deal of time in the Word, I really know when I'm missing the mark as a Christian. Here are a few things of what Proverbs says about people who do not listen to God. I think there are many people hear the word of God but do not allow it to transform them. I've been in churches full of people like that. I'm afraid I have been one of those people for a long time...!

God asks in verse 22... How long will you love simplicity...?

-Simplicity is living apart from HIM, with no knowledge or understanding of His Word. It also refers to people who hear, understand, but choose to keep the lifestyle of Simplicity.

Verse: 24... For I have called on You and you have refused...

Verse 25... You have disdained my counsel and had none of my rebuke...

We are to have God's Grace for a time, but after an undisclosed period of time, here's what will happen:

Verse 26... God will laugh at our calamity

Verse 27... Terror will come, destruction will come, and distress and anguish will come.

Verse 28... You will call and God will not listen, You will seek Him and not find Him.

These are the 'anti-fruits' of not fearing the Lord, following His word, and despising His rebukes.

Verse 31-32... They shall eat the fruit of their own way... The turning away of the simple shall slay them and the complacency of fools shall destroy them...

SAM CHADWELL HAS BEEN A COMPLACENT FOOL FOR TOO LONG...!

For me right now, this is all about how I run my family and my relationship with Connor, Monica, and Elijah. -Especially Connor...! God is not going to wait for me to get my act together much longer. And on a larger scale, I can see how the words of Proverbs 1 apply to America and her future. I believe America is beginning to taste the 'anti-fruit' of it's own way. And those who call themselves Christians are all complacent fools for not standing up for God and His Word.
I have weakened America myself, by not having a stronger Christian home...!

Dear Heavenly Father,

Lord I love You. I do not love simplicity. I am so sorry for walking a weak christian walk, especially within my own household. Father God In lift up my family right now to You. I pray blessings on them. I ask that you help me to be a better father. Help me to be a better head of the house. Help me to say no to sin and live a life totally abandoned to You. Please Lord, remove these hindrances and strongholds that have impeded my spiritual growth. Praise You Father God, for I will listen to You and dwell safely, secure from fear and evil. I lift up pastor Greg and other pastors everywhere this morning as they prepare to deliver their Sunday messages. I pray that hearts and lives are changed forever today. I especially lift up my father in Law in California who has injured himself in a fall a few days ago and I also lift up my dear sweet sister who is suffering depression in New York. Lord, PLEASE heal them. I pray this in the power of the name of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, Amen.

Today's Dose of Spurgeon Romans 8:37

I have studied the works of Charles Spurgeon for Years. Today's Morning Meditation/Study is a real gem and goes perfectly with what I was writing about yesterday.

Among other things Spurgeon said was: " The only weapon with which to fight sin with is the spear which pierced the side of Jesus.' -We MUST take our issues to the Cross.

America MUST take her issues to the Cross.

2 Chronicles 7:14 ...If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways THEN I will hear from heaven, forgive them of their sins and heal their land.

Wow... What a promise...! -I've got a lot of praying to do...!

Who Can We Turn to in Time of Need?

I think Hebrews 4:16 says it all...

We are to approach God on the Throne with every confidence that He will help us in our time of need...

God showed up BIG yesterday in my life on several different occasions. Wow, PRAISE HIM...!

I just have to tell everyone about JESUS..!

Dear Heavenly Father,

Lord You are an amazing, wonderful, loving father. Thank You Lord for being so faithful and answering prayer. Father God I just have to Praise You.

Every day we see and hear that the times we are living in are dark and evil but yet You can be found by those who call You their people and who diligently seek You with all their heart, mind and soul.

Oh my King, my Lord and Savior, I am seeking You. Every minute. Every hour. Every day.

You are my God. You lift me up. You are my Provider. You are my Strong Tower.

Oh Praise You, Jesus...! I love You Lord. In Your most Holy name I pray, Amen.

Dr Charles Stanley

One of my favorite bible teachers is Dr Charles Stanley. He explains the bible and uses illustrations that are the most concise and easy to understand that I have ever heard.

He has come up with 30 Life Principles to live by as outlined in the bible.

For the last few days Life Principle #2 has been speaking to me: Obey God and Leave all the Consequences to Him.

Here is a good article by Dr Stanley about Obedience I love this excerpt from Dr Stanley's six point message on this topic:

At some point in life, we must make a deliberate decision to obey God in every circumstance, no matter how difficult it may seem to us at the time. Many people would rather look at all the options, then decide whether obedience to God is convenient. The truth is that partial obedience is disobedience. We need to pray and find out just what He wants us to do in a difficult situation, but we should have our hearts set on the commitment that whatever God desires, we will do it without question.

-Dr Charles Stanley

Partial obedience is disobedience. That sums it up right there...! The Word of God makes it simple and plain for each one of us. We cannot lose by being obedient, and we cannot win by being disobedient.

Dear Heavenly Father, Lord I want to honor You. I want to be obedient to your Word. Thank You for the discernment to filter out situations that are not honoring to You. Help me to deal with these situations in love and be Your voice and Your witness to those within my sphere of influence.

Lord I love You. I am seeking You, my King. I want to be involved in endeavors that are one hundred percent worthy of Your endorsement and blessing. Father God I will trust in You.

As for me and my house, We will serve You, my King. Thank You for Your blessings, Lord. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

Prayers for my tennis friends

Dear Heavenly Father,

Lord today I have many friends traveling for a tennis competition . I pray for their safety. Father God several of them are wrapping up their high school tennis careers this week. I lift them up in this very special time in their lives.

Lord I especially lift up my brother in Christ, Warren Rayburn, as he recognizes this trip as a great witnessing opportunity. I am very thankful for young people like Warren who are on fire for Jesus.

Father God I pray You fan the flames of passion to witness to others in me. Lord help me to be obedient to You and Your Word.

I love You Lord. I'm living for You.

In Jesus' Name I Pray, Amen.

Let it Rain....

It is raining hard today. I have had two major tennis events canceled because of the weather. I wish that it hadn't rained my events out, but I'm sure other people like the farmers needed the rain. I'm going to use my extra time to get caught up on some projects that need some attention, and I think I'll spend a little extra time in the WORD, as well...

Dear Heavenly Father,

Lord thank You for the rain. I praise You for the rain. Father God I hear there is a tornado in our area. Please keep everyone safe in Your protection my King.

I give today to you and I pray these things in Jesus' Name, AMEN.

Today

Dear Heavenly Father,

Lord first of all I thank You for another day to impact this world. I thank You for another day to be useful to the Kingdom. Today is another day of holding my thoughts captive. Today is another day for standing up for what is right, and for the truth.

Today is another day to hold negative thoughts captive.

Father God Today I pray especially for my sister, Becky. I pray for healing for her, Lord. I pray that You are her Rock and Her Fortress. Hold her up, lift her up and place her feet upon Your solid ground.

Lord I also pray for a good day for my precious wife. Once again she has worn herself out working and caring for her family. I pray she has a peaceful, relaxing day. I lift her up to You my King.

Father, going into this weekend I pray for an extra portion of patience and humility in my communication with my stepson, Connor. In the name of Jesus I bind that spirit anger in my heart and cast it out into the wilderness.

Father God You are in control of every situation. I trust in You. I rest in You, my King.

I love You Lord, and I pray these things in the power of Jesus' name, Amen.

Proverbs 1:7... Lean Not on Your Own Understanding

Has anyone ever told you to follow your heart...? Have You ever let your feelings dictate the decisions you make...? Probably so. I know I have.

Jeremiah 17:9 says the heart is deceitful above all things and can not be trusted... I know this sounds unromantic, but when we 'follow our heart apart from consulting God, that's leaning on our own understanding. We must include God in the equation.

Proverbs 16:25 says that there is a way that seems right to a man, but it's path ends in destruction. -That's leaning on our own understanding.

Take a look at America. When our country was born we followed God. America was founded by Christians on the bible and Christian principles. Now the majority of Americans have pretty much kicked God out of America. And God is sitting back now saying, ok guys: Just try to get along without me....

I can't say for sure what is going to happen. America is not mentioned in end times prophecy. All I know is that as for me and my house:

We will serve the Lord...!

Let's face it, probably everyone has made a decision they later regretted. For me, the times in my life and the decisions I most regret are those where I leaned on my own understanding.

So take it from a person who's made many mistakes:

A life in Christ is the only way...!

-If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sins and heal their land...

2 Chronicles 7:14

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thanks for planting Proverbs 1:7 and the associated scriptures on my heart this morning. Lord I do trust You. Now please help me to not lean on my own understanding or the wisdom of other men. Help me to seek You first, and Your righteousness.

I love You Lord. Your Word is True and every man is a liar...!

Father God, I give this day to You. I ask blessings on my family and I. Guard us, protect us, lift us up. Heal us, oh Lord. Make our paths true and straight.

In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

2 Corinthians 10:5 Captive Thoughts

2 Corinthians 10:5 Ahh... This is the main area of my life that gives me trouble. Negative thoughts... Especially those thoughts that lead to anger...

But anger is not my only problem. Right now I'm also suffering from dis-illusionment. I can't stand what this world is coming to, and what it stands for. My wife and I have been hurt by the 'church' too numerous times to count, now.

I read an excellent article from Dr Charles Stanley's website this morning... It definitely helped me in my war to win battles of my thought life...

Friends, the days are dark. We are facing challenges and obstacles in our Christian walk like never before. The enemy is waging an all out war on the Saints of the Lord. Stand strong aagainst depression, anxety, anger, lust, and other carnal, negative thoughts. They are not of God, but Satan himself.

I'm praying for You, please pray for me too...

Dear Heavenly Father,

Lord I lift up those under the yolk of bondage to negative thoughts. Father God many people don't even know that they are under spiritual attack, much less what to do about it. I know what to do, and yet I still struggle a bit.

The same POWER that conquered the grave lives in me. It's time to activate Holy Spirit Power and vanquish these strongholds present in my life.

In the name of JESUS I cast out these negative thoughts that are bringing me down. My God, My Savior, has a plan to prosper me. I claim victory over anger, worry, and depression....!

Jesus, I love You. I praise You in the highest this morning. I lift my hands and voice high to You, my loving Father. I trust in You. I Rest in You.

Lord I lift up my precious family to You this morning. I lift up my sis and her family. I lift up Monica's parents and my other brothers, Stan and John. Lord I lift up my families' finances. Bless them, Lord.

With Your help and enablement, Lord I will take every thought captive today and live fully for You...! For Your Glory, In Your Name, Jesus Christ I pray, Amen.

Praise Report...

Monday was a good day. I gave it to the Lord first thing and just went about my business. I had a good day of lessons and several good phone calls. I feel I impacted many lives in a positive way today. It's all to God's Glory.

Right this moment I just want to thank and praise God for such a beautiful, productive day. I also want to thank Him for the trials and problems I am facing. Oh I want to see my way through the trials and problems, and as soon as possible, but if my life were trouble free I wonder if I would see the need for a Savior...?

I remember a time early in my tennis career (after I was saved, but not really living for the Lord as I should have been...) When I earned way more money than I needed to make ends meet, but did I save any of it...? No. I just lived as high a lifestyle as my income would allow. My life was pretty worry free and I didn't give much thought to God...

Honestly, looking back on my life, especially in the early years I only cried out to God when I was hurting... Oh how I have much more appreciation and respect for my Lord and Savior than I did back then...

But here's God, still using the same tactics to get my attention. I'm sure He has a plan for my life. In fact, I know what it is. He wants my faithful obedience to live my life for him and not myself or anyone or anything else. I don't know all the details for the future. But I know that I am seeking the Lord's face every day and He is showing me great things.

I've still got trials and problems that I am working through but I know with God's assistance that anything is possible...!

I read an article this evening that people are starting to publicly denounce their faith. How totally absurd and terribly sad... Here's a website where you can get 'de-baptised'. This organization claims over 100 thousand from Great Britain alone have denounced their faith.

My Friends, let's pray for these lost souls. I really don't think there is much time left in the world. Time is of the essence. And we've got to not only pray for the lost but put hands and feet to our sentiment and literally pull people out of the fire...!

There is nothing in this world worth holding onto but one's salvation. If your own salvation is secure then You are called to make disciples of all men (and women).

Pray for the eternal salvation of those lost who are within your sphere of influence....!

Dear Heavenly Father,

Lord You said to Trust You with my heart. I do. You said to not lean on my own understanding and make decisions on my own apart from You or wise counsel. I will not. You said to honor You in all my ways and You will make my path straight.

I Love You, Lord. And I do honor You with my life. Father God I am so sorry for areas that I fall short in. By Your Grace I will not fall short again. My prayer is to be more like You.

Lord I pray You continue to fan the flames of my passion and thirst for Your Word.

I pray these things in Jesus' name, Amen...!

It's A New Week....

OK... It's a new week... I'm looking out the window this morning at sunshine...

I'm ready to thank and praise and give glory to God....!

Lord, thank You for my troubles. Thank You for my trials. They certainly keep me focused on You. I give You my heart, Lord. Cleanse it. Father God, heal me of my quick temper and anger issues.

Today I'm living only for You! In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

He Is Risen...

Jesus conquered the grave... That is the miracle of all miracles. And if we truly believe that, how in the world can have fear and doubt about ANYTHING in our lives...?

THE CROSS, and what happened on THE CROSS over 2000 years ago is really ALL THAT MATTERS....

Friends, it's good to go to church. It's good to listen to sermons on cd, radio, and download. But there is no comparison to diving in to the WORD of GOD and reading it for yourself. I believe that God has something specific to say to each and every one of us and HE will reveal it through HIS WORD.

The ANSWERS to the questions you have ARE written down IN THE BIBLE.

God will direct your path if you SEEK HIM and TRUST HIM. Proverbs 3:5-6

Today is the perfect day to put your trust in the Lord....!

Good Friday The Passion

Jesus died today for all my sins and the sins of the world. Monica and I watched 'The Passion' directed by Mel Gibson back about four or five years ago. I can't believe it's been that long.

I only saw that movie once and couldn't bear to watch it again. The portrayal of graphic violence that Jesus endured for our sakes was tremendous. And I'm sure it was probably worse than the movie...

It makes me feel very guilty that Jesus went through all that pain and finally death for me...

But does it make me feel guilty and ashamed enough to change my life forever...?

YES, it does...!

Easter Reflections

Easter is upon us. This time of year I always ponder the thoughts and emotions that must have been going through Jesus' mind prior to his crucifixion.

On this symbolic day in history, Jesus met with his disciples for the last time before they all would dessert, betray, or deny him a few hours after the last supper. He would be crucified on the next day.

I think today was tough day for the fleshly part of Jesus.

My mom passed away right before Holy Week nine years ago, and Connor's Daddy also passed away on Good Friday not long ago, so our household is always a little extra emotionally charged this time of year.

This morning I am praying for my family. I especially lift up Connor. I am believing we will have a blessed, memorable, happy, and joyous Easter weekend.

Lord Jesus, what a great sacrifice You made for us so long ago. I thank and praise You, Lord. I crown You as my King and the Lord of my life. Father God I live for You. I love You. You have given me everlasting life...!

Lord I lift up my precious family to You this morning. Bless us, Lord. Bless us to be a blessing to each other and those around us...

In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

Pray For Pastor Rick Warren

Rick Warren has now publicly expressed his opposition for Proposition 8, (sort of...) and says he never really supported the proposition publicly in the first place, and has apologised to all his gay friends for his misrepresentation....

Here's an article from One News Now about Warren which sums things up pretty well...

Here's the Larry King Live Video... You be the Judge... It's about 20 minutes, but worth listening to... Pray for your own discernment...!

Ugghhh...

What a bunch of double talk... Friends, please pray for Pastor Warren...!

Proverbs 12, Corinthians 13, and Proverbs 27

There's a lot of good information and instruction in Proverbs 12. I like verse 4. it has two parts.

Part A says: An excellent wife is the crown of her husband... I've got one of those. My wife is a sweet blessing to our family and especially to me.

Part B says: But she who causes shame is like rottenness in his bones... I praise the Lord that I don't have one of those. Sadly, I know men who do...

Yes... I'm high on my wife! I love how we talk about the Lord , the bible, and spiritual issues all the time. She definitely inspires me to dig deeper into the word.

Last night we were talking about Love. She pointed out the significance of 1 Corinthians 13.

A person could be blessed with an incredible knowledge of scripture, have great oratory and teaching skills, but if they don't have love then they are nothing more than a clanging gong or cymbal. And sadly, we know many people like that. Our lives have recently been greatly impacted by a clanging cymbal.

But wait... Wow...! The Holy Spirit just revealed something to me as I was posting this message. I need to be careful that I do not sound like be a clanging percussion instrument, myself...!

Funny how the splinters I see in other mens' eyes are logs in my own eyes...

God has just given me the insight that I've got some love issues in my own life to deal with, so I need to be careful what I write in regard to other men....

Let me close on a positive note, with another scripture that makes me think of my wife, and my marriage...

Proverbs 27:17... Iron sharpens iron, and so one person sharpens the wits of another... My wife definitely sharpens me....!

To God be the Glory, PRAISE HIM...!

I praise God for a good productive day yesterday.

God is in control...!

Standing Strong on the Word

Today is a good day to just stand strong on the Word. God makes so many promises throughout the bible. But one of my favorites is Jeremiah 29:11.

For I know the plans I have for You declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and give you hope and a future...

Ahh... that is such a comfort. I'd like to explore that verse in depth a bit more in the future, especially the verses before and after it to give it more context.

But for now I rest in the knowledge that I am a child of God. The Lord knows my future and He's in control.

Thank You, God...!

Today I lift up my father in law, Arno, who is going in to the hospital to have exploratory heart surgery this weekend. Please join me in lifting him up to the Lord. Pray for his peace of mind and also for his sweet wife, Judy.

A Good Verse For the Times We Live in: Proverbs 3:25-26

Does anyone feel the same way as I do, that the world is moving way too fast to keep up with...? Changes are coming to our way of life left and right. What was once 'wrong' is now considered 'right', and vice -versa. There is more fear, worry, and anxiety in the world today than ever before...

A young person of high school age came to me yesterday and asked me if I had heard that North Korea has missiles pointed at America...? Honestly, I had not heard that, but it doesn't surprize me in the least. I told him that when I was in high school 25 years ago the big scare was Russian missles pointed at us. America has had missiles pointed at her for as long as missles have been invented...!

I do remember the fear I felt back in the early 1980's, and I empathized with my young friend.

Today's bible verse addresses that kind of fear and discouragement:

Do not be afraid of sudden terror, nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes; for the Lord will be your confidence, and will keep your foot from being caught. -Proverbs 3:25-26

Wow, what a comforting verse. I also think of it this way. God gave me life. He gave me a precious wife and family whom I love very much. I am prepared to literally lay down my life for my family at a moment's notice. I think most husbands and daddy's would do the same.

Because I have accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior I am part of the 'family of God'. Jesus already laid down His life for me. God the Father in Heaven is now my Heavenly Father. He feels the same way about me as I feel for my wife and child, but he is 'God' and does everything bigger and better than I in my frail, human existence can do. Ahh... God is Good.

Trouble is already here. We are living in times of trouble. Sudden Terrror? When it comes, I'm letting God take care of it...!
